USC’s Alexei Sancov Reaches Podium at NCAA Swim Championships
USC junior Alexei Sancov earned a spot on the podium after finishing seventh in the 200y free to highlight USC's third evening at the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday (March 26) in Greensboro, N.C.
Sancov, who was fifth in prelims, secured a spot in the championship final of the 200y free with a time of 1:32.55. In the A final, Sancov touched 1:33.64, earning his first individual trip to the podium at NCAA's.
During prelims, senior Nikola Miljenic finished 15th in the 100y fly, touching in 45.64 to secure a spot in the consolation final. He then returned to finals where he finished sixth in the consolation heat in 45.63.
On the diving side, sophomore George Korovin finished up the day with 313.45 on 3-meter for 34th.
The NCAA Championships continue through Saturday with prelims at 7 a.m. PT and finals at 3 p.m. PT.
