Washington Falls 6-1 To #14 Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. – The #6 Washington Huskies fell 6-1 to the #14 Arizona State Sun Devils in game two of the four-game series Saturday afternoon. The Huskies are 22-4 on the season and 2-2 in Pac-12 play after the loss.

Madison Huskey drove in a run for the Huskies, giving her eight RBI in her last ten games. SilentRain Espinoza, Sis Bates, and Baylee Klingler all had hits as well.

Sarah Willis had her first career hit, a double in the fifth. The freshman would also throw five innings in the circle, allowing two runs. That included three straight scoreless innings to end the game.


  • First Inning: Arizona State homered on the first pitch of the game, part of a three-run inning to put the Sun Devils on top early.
  • Second Inning: Two solo home runs by Arizona State made it 5-0.
  • Third Inning: A bases-loaded walk added a run to Arizona State's lead.
  • Fifth Inning: After Willis laced a double that nearly cleared the leftfield wall, Huskey brought her home with an RBI single, making it 6-1.


  • Huskey (1x2, RBI) has hit .455 with four runs and four RBI in five career games against ASU.
  • Bates (1x3) has hits in 12 of her last 13 games.
  • Klingler (1x2) has not gone hitless in back-to-back games since February 8, 2020, a span of 45 games.
