Bears Earn NFHCA National Academic Team Award
BERKELEY – Adding to its academic accolades from the 2020 fall semester, the California field hockey team is once again recipients of Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Team honors, the organization announced Monday.
The award is bestowed upon teams across Division I field hockey that earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher through the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year. Cal is one of 79 programs to earn recognition.
After a program-record 23 Bears recorded NFHCA National Academic Squad honors and four were tabbed Scholars of Distinction, one award remains, the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete, which will be announced on June 15.
