Baseball Falls to Oregon State in Second Game of Series
CORVALLIS – Oregon State's power proved to be too much for Utah baseball in the second game of the series against the Beavers at Goss Stadium.
Utah took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth, but Oregon State responded with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead back. Their offense continued to surge as they added runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth to take the second game of the series 17-3.

The Utes got off to a good start by scoring in the first inning to take an early lead. Zavolta drew his walk to start the game and found his way to third after a wild pitch and a groundout from Jayden Kiernan. Two batters later, Rowan put the ball in play to score Zavolta and put the Utes up 1-0.
Oregon State tied the score in the third with a solo homer. It was their first hit of the game. Through the first four innings, Kyle Robeniol only gave up one hit to the Beavers.
The Utes manufactured another run in the fifth to take the lead again. Kai Roberts got on base and stole second bringing Rowan up with two outs. He knocked a single to left field to score Roberts from second.
After only having one hit in four innings, the Oregon State bats woke up. They scored five in the fifth to go up 6-2.
They then added two more in the sixth, seven in the seventh and two more in the eighth.
Kai Roberts was on base four times on the night with a single and three walks. The Utes totaled five hits and drew seven walks.
