DAVIS, Calif. – Amanda Morse picked up the first hat trick of her collegiate career in a 12-10 defeat at UC Davis on Friday at UC Davis Health Stadium. Morse was one of six different Cal players to score in the opening half when she tallied a key unassisted goal that pulled the Golden Bears into an early 3-3 tie with 18:43 to go before the break and then added the final two goals of the contest with 5:58 remaining on an assist from Nikki Zaccaro and unassisted with 0:04 remaining. She scored on each of the three shots she attempted.

"We knew Amanda had this in her the whole time," head coach Brooke Eubanks said. "I was excited to see it all come together for her."

"It was super exciting," Morse said about her hat trick. "I knew going into the game that it was going to be a fight and that we would need to effectively work together on offense to come up with goals. I think we all worked super well as a unit and that's how we were able to finish our scoring opportunities. As a whole, our energy was high and I was able to feed off of that and finish on all my shots, which was awesome."

Cal will next travel to San Diego State for a non-conference game against the Aztecs this Sunday (Noon PT).
