Allchin Earns Freshman Of The Week From Pac-12
SAN FRANCISCO - After leading the Huskies to a four-game sweep of Cal, Jadelyn Allchin has been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. This is the first weekly honor of Allchin's career and the first Freshman of the Week honor of the season for the Huskies.
Allchin hit .600/.583/.700 last weekend, with hits in all four games of the sweep. She has now set or matched her 2020 season totals in every offensive category, doing so in five fewer starts and 14 fewer at-bats. Since returning from injury, Allchin has hits in five of seven games, hitting .429 in that time. A sophomore, Allchin played her freshman season in the shortened 2020 campaign, leaving her eligible for freshman honors this year after that season was cut short after 25 games.
Allchin is the seventh active Husky to earn Freshman of the Week honors and the first to do so during the 2021 season. This is the fifth weekly award for the Huskies this season. Allchin joins Sami Reynolds and Gabbie Plain as Huskies to earn weekly awards from the Pac-12 this year.
This week, Washington will play at Oregon State, starting a four-game series on Friday, April 9. None of those games will have video streams, but live stats will be available via links on the schedule page on GoHuskies.com.
