Baseball Travels to Dixie State for Midweek Game

FIRST PITCH
The Utah baseball team will travel to St. George, Utah to take on Dixie State on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
 
It will be the second time the Utes and Trailblazers play this season. Dixie State won the first game against Utah at Smith's Ballpark
 
RICHARDSON SPARKS OFFENSE
Matt Richardson has been on fire since the beginning of Pac-12 play.
 
In the first two weeks of conference play, Richardson hit .565 raising his season average to a team-leading .340. In the six games, he scored eight runs and knocked in five RBI.
 
Batting in the nine hole, the junior leads the team in the nine conference games with a .423 average and six RBI.
 
WATSON FINDS A RHYTHM
On Sunday against Cal, Utah needed a big start and got one from David Watson. He pitched 7.0 innings only allowing one run earning the Sunday win.
 
He followed that up with another strong outing against Oregon State pitching 7.2 innings and only giving up three runs on five hits. He struck out seven in Utah's first ever win in Corvallis.
 
The redshirt sophomore has a 2.75 ERA in Pac-12 play and is 2-1 overall in his three outings against Stanford, Cal and Oregon State.
