Lew Starts Strong At Silverado Showdown

Sophomore Jasmine Lew is Cal's top individual after the first round of the Silverado Showdown.

NAPA – Sophomore Jasmine Lew shot a 2-over par 74 on Monday and is in a tie for 21st place after the first round of the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Resort and Spa.

Lew birdied three of her first eight holes and was at 2-under at the turn, but a double-bogey on the second-to-last hole of the day moved her seven strokes back of co-leaders Ellie Slama of Oregon State and Stefanie Deng of Washington.

Junior Katherine Zhu carded a 3-over par 75 and is in a tie for 32nd in the 74-player field.

The Bears are in 11th place as a team in the 13-team field.
