Women's Golf Wraps Up Day One at the Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif – Redshirt senior Emily Baumgart and junior Amy Chu of the Washington State women's golf team completed their first round of play at the Silverado Showdown on Monday, April 5.

Chu wrapped-up her first 18 holes of play at the Silverado Showdown at six-over par; 78. The junior from Sydney, Australia will begin Tuesday's second round in a tie for 55th on the player leaderboard. Meanwhile, Baumgart carded a score of 81 (+9) during her first go-around at the Silverado Spa and Resort Golf Course. The Walla Walla, Washington native heads into tomorrow's second round tied for 70th.

UCLA sits atop the team leaderboard at the end of the first round of the Silverado Showdown. The Bruins shot even-par; 288 as a team on day one of the tournament. A pair of Pac-12 Conference golfers are tied for first heading into the second round of the Silverado Showdown, as Washington's Stefanie Deng and Oregon State's Ellie Slama each completed the first round at five-under par; 67.

The second round of the Silverado Showdown gets underway this Tuesday, April 6, with a shotgun start at beginning at 8 a.m. PT. Fans can follow along with live results on GolfStat.com.
