Bruins Maintain Lead After Two Rounds of Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. - With one round left at the Silverado Showdown, the Bruins remain in first place, leading by four strokes with 18 holes to go. UCLA shot a 1-over 289 on Tuesday at the Silverado Resort and is at 1-over 577 through two rounds, leading USC (+5, 581) and Oregon State (+6, 582).

Sophomore Emma Spitz is tied for second at 3-under 141 following a bogey-free, 2-under 70. She made birdies on the par-5 ninth and 16th holes to go with 16 pars. Spitz is six shots back of the individual lead held by Ellie Slama of Oregon State (-9, 135).

Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara is tied for fourth at 2-under 142. She posted an even-par 72 on Tuesday, making five birdies on the par-5 ninth and 16th holes and par-4 first, fourth and 12th to go with five bogeys.

Sophomore Annabel Wilson is tied for 10th at 2-over 146, shooting a 1-over 73 in her second round. She made four birdies on the par-5 18th and par-4 third, 10th and 17th holes, adding five bogeys. Sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri is tied for 17th (+4, 148), posting a 2-over 74 on a birdie on the par-4 12th and three bogeys. Junior Simar Singh, playing as an individual, is tied for 47th (+10, 154), making a birdie on the par-4 12th, four bogeys and a double in a 5-over 77. Junior Phoebe Yue is tied for 60th (+14, 158), making three birdies on the par-4 fourth, eighth and 12th holes, nine bogeys and a double in an 8-over 80.

Wednesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Spitz will begin on hole No. 1, Yoshihara on No. 2, Paltrinieri and Wilson on No. 3, Yue on No. 4 and Singh on No. 16. Live scoring will be available here.
