Ducks In Fifth Entering Final Round

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – The Oregon women's golf team is in fifth place entering the final round of the Silverado Showdown after finishing with a 10-over 298 on Tuesday at Silverado Country Club.
The Ducks moved up one spot on the 13-team leaderboard from Monday's opening round and are at 17 over going into the final 18 holes on Wednesday. UCLA remains the overall leader at 1-over-par.
How it Happened: Ching-Tzu Chen posted the top score by a Duck on Tuesday, but she did not count towards the team score as she is competing as an individual this week. Chen started her day with a bogey and a double, but rebounded to shoot 1 under across her next 14 holes before finishing with a pair of birdies to close the day with an even-par 72.
Chen is 3 over for the tournament and tied with fellow sophomore Briana Chacon as the top Ducks on the individual leaderboard in 14th. Chacon fired a 1-over 73 on Tuesday, going 1 under through her first 11 holes with 10 pars and a birdie before shooting 2 over the rest of the way.
It was another up-and-down day for Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen, who led Oregon in birdies (5) for the second straight round but also had four bogeys and a double en route to a 2-over 74.
Tze-Han (Heather) Lin used three birdies in her final five holes to come in with a 3-over 75, and Alexis Phadungmartvorakul rounded out Oregon's counting scores with a 4-over 76.
