WSU Concludes Day Two at the Silverado Showdown
NAPA, Calif – The Washington State women's golf team had a pair of golfers complete their second round of play at the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday, April 6.
Only one stroke separates WSU golfers redshirt senior Emily Baumgart and junior Amy Chu heading into Wednesday's third, and final, round at the Silverado Showdown. Chu goes into her final 18 holes of play at the Silverado Spa and Resort Golf Course in a tie for 62nd on the player leaderboard, as the junior heads into the final day of the Silverado Showdown with a score of 159 (+15). Baumgart begins the third round one-stroke behind Chu, as she is in a tie for 65th after 36 holes.
Baumgart shaved two-strokes off her first-round score on Tuesday, as the Walla Walla, Washington native carded a score of 79 (+7) in the second round. Chu shot nine-over par; 81 in her second go-around on the Silverado Spa and Resort Golf Course.
UCLA sits atop the team leaderboard at the end of the second round of the Silverado Showdown. The Bruins have shot one-over par; 577 as a team through two days of the tournament. A Pac-12 Conference golfer sits atop the player leaderboard heading into the third round of the Silverado Showdown, as Oregon State's Ellie Slama has carded nine-under par; 135 in the tournament.
The third round of the Silverado Showdown gets underway this Wednesday, April 7, with a shotgun start at beginning at 8 a.m. PT. Fans can follow along with live results on GolfStat.com.
