Arizona and Colorado Finish 0-0 in Double Overtime

BOULDER, Colo. - In their first overtime match of the season, the No. 23 Arizona Wildcats (8-4-1, 3-4-1) finished in a nil-nil draw in double overtime against the Colorado Buffs. This marks the match-ups third 0-0 draw in program history. Arizona has walked away tied against Colorado more times than any other opponent in program history, with five draws.

Both teams offense were working in over-drive to get points onto the board with the Cats only outshooting the Buffs 23-21. However, the Cats were on target far more than the Buffs going 11-7 in SOG against Colorado. The Arizona defense had another amazing match as they aided the team to their sixth clean sheet of the season. 

Play of the Match – On the Goal Line
In the 58th minute of game play Colorado took a corner that got dangerously close to putting them on the board. The Arizona defense was able to tussle along the goal line with defender Ava Hetzel clearing the ball right on the very corner edge of the line, keeping the Buffs scoreless.

Woman of the Match – Hope Hisey 
Keeper Hope Hisey was crucial in keeping Colorado scoreless and in earning her sixth clean sheet of the season. Facing seven SOG, she collected seven saves for the third time this season. Seven is her current season high, only two away from her career high of 9. She is now only 18 behind her final save count for 2019 (64).

By the Numbers
110 - In Arizona's longest match of the season three players saw the pitch for the whole 110 minutes. Keeper Hope Hisey and defenders Ava McCray and Sabrina Enciso fought for the entirety of the double overtime match. This is the first time this season that Arizona has seen any overtime periods as well as their first draw. 

5 - With five draws against Colorado, this makes the Buffs the most tied against school in program history. Their tie percentage is now 50%, the highest in program history. 

23 - The Wildcats set a season record taking 23 shots against Colorado, with their previous season record being 17.
