Sieben and Gehr Score PRs at Jim Click Shootout Multis
TUCSON, Ariz. – Dominic Gehr, Skylar Sieben and Abby Walls wrapped up the Jim Click Shootout combined events on Friday where Both Gehr and Sieben tallied PR scores and Walls made her multis debut for the Cats.
After recording a PR day one score on Thursday, Sieben carried her multis success into Friday, finishing with a PR score of 5,386 to take sixth. Her performance moves her up to sixth on the Arizona all-time list. Her highest scoring event of the day was the 800m where she picked up 791 points and a fifth place finish. She also finished seventh in the long jump and eighth in the javelin throw.
Gehr recorded a decathlon PR, scoring a total of 6,759 points to take sixth place. He kicked off day two with a win in his heat in the 110m hurdles, coming up just short of a PR. He then picked up a fourth place finish in the discus and scored 731 points in the pole vault, taking seventh. Gehr also threw a season-best javelin throw mark to take sixth. He closed out competition in the 1500m where he finished sixth.
Walls picked up a big PR in the long jump, finishing fifth and adding 729 points to her overall score, making it her highest scoring event of the meet. She closed out her multis debut with an 11th place finish.
With the combined events now in the books, day three of the Jim Click Shootout will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the women's hammer throw. Running events will follow at 5:20 p.m. The Wildcats will look to put up more top-NCAA marks and times.
