SAN FRANCISCO - After a great weekend at the plate and in the circle at No. 3 Oregon, senior Rachel Garcia was named Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Garcia had hits in all three Bruin victories last weekend, going 4-for-13 (.308) with two home runs, five runs batted in and two walks. She hit a two-run shot in Saturday's first game to give UCLA a 3-0 lead, adding two singles, including an RBI hit, in game two. On Sunday, Garcia belted the go-ahead, two-run homer in the sixth to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead in an eventual 6-2 victory.

The senior was also outstanding in the circle, picking up two wins and posting a 1.00 earned run average and 17 strikeouts in 14 innings. She tossed a complete-game shutout in Saturday's first game, striking out seven. Garcia fanned seven more in Sunday's win, tossing five innings of relief and allowing only a solo homer and two walks. Garcia got her weekend started on Friday with three strikeouts in two innings of relief.

Garcia leads the Bruins with a .415 batting average, an .878 slugging and a .510 on base percentage, and is third with six home runs, adding 11 runs batted in, nine runs scored and eight walks. In the circle, she has a team-low ERA of 0.55, a 6-0 record and 66 strikeouts in 38 innings.

Garcia, who was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week on March 23, has now earned three Pac-12 Player of the Week awards (April 16, 2018 and March 19, 2019) to go with a school-record 12 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors.

The Bruins host Oregon State in a four-game series this weekend. The first game is Friday at 4 p.m. A live video stream will be available at UCLABruins.com.
