Mack is Back for 2021-22
CORVALLIS – Oregon State forward Ellie Mack will return to the Beavers for the 2021-22 season, the senior announced Wednesday.
The NCAA announced on Oct. 14 that winter-sport student-athletes who competed during the 2020-21 campaign would receive an additional year of eligibility due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their season. This allows Mack to remain with the Oregon State team after completing her senior season.
Mack started every game for the Beavers during the 2020-21 campaign, after joining the team as a transfer from Bucknell. The forward averaged 6.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 41 percent from the floor and 37 percent from 3-point range. Mack scored in double-figures five times on the year, including a 15-point showing against Colorado.
The forward was Patriot League Player of the Year in her final season at Bucknell, and has 1,193 career points to go with 602 career rebounds. Mack will be part of an Oregon State front-court that boasts All-Pac-12 selection Taylor Jones, three-year starter Taya Corosdale, McDonald's All-American Kennedy Brown returning from injury and Jelena Mitrovic coming off a redshirt-freshman campaign in which she saw action in every game.
As a team, Oregon State finished the season 12-8 and made its seventh-straight NCAA Tournament. The Beavers won nine of their final 12 games, with their three defeats in that span all coming against opponents who made the Final Four.
