USC Men's Golf Finish Eighth At Western Intercollegiate

Senior Kaito Onishi fired a 2-under 68 while junior Cameron Henry was even to lead USC in the final round of the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Wednesday (April 14).

The Trojans finished eighth at 41-over 1091 (363-372-356) in the regular-season finale, closing with the fourth-best round of the day. Pepperdine won at 4-under.

Onishi pocketed his sixth round of the 60s on the season, and sixth in his last eight rounds, tying for 34th at 8-over 218 (75-75-68).

Senior Leon D'Souza was USC's highest finisher, tying for 21st at 5-over 215 (72-71-72). He strung together four straight birdies mid-round en route to his third top 25 this season.

Henry tied for 26th at 7-over 217 (71-76-70) with five final-round birdies as he posted his third top 26 this year.

Freshman Shane Ffrench tied for 56th at 12-over 210 (72-76-74), sophomore Tyler Guo tied for 67th at 16-over 226 (73-74-79) and senior Kyle Suppa tied for 77th at 22-over 232 (80-80-72).

USC will return to the Bay Area in less than two weeks for the 2021 Pac-12 Championships, April 26-28, in Santa Rosa.
