Apr 16, 2021

BOISE, Idaho – The Arizona beach volleyball team opened its 4-match road trip this weekend with a pair of convincing victories over Utah and Boise State on the campus of Boise State University on Friday. The No. 9 Wildcats swept Utah, 5-0, and then bucked the Broncos, 4-1.
In the opening match of the day against Utah, the Utes were unable to field a fifth pair, so Arizona (18-4) started with a 1-0 lead thanks to the forfeit. The other four pairs for UA would go on to win their matches in straight sets for the 5-0 sweep. It's the Wildcats seventh 5-0 dual sweep of the season.
In match two, Sarah Blacker and Brooke Burling won handily, 21-13, 21-10, as did Mady Noble and Dana Parker, 21-10, 21-15. Hope Shannon partnered with Oliva Hallaran at No. 5 pair to come away with a 21-14, 21-10 win.
Natalie Anselmo and Carly Lowry went to a deciding third set and came out on top in that set, 15-12, to earn the fourth point for the Wildcats.
Arizona is back in action on Sunday at the University of Washington, where they will take on UW and No. 15 Hawaii.
