SEATTLE – The #6 Washington Huskies came out on fire en route to an 8-0 run-rule victory over the #4 Oregon Ducks on Friday night. Washington scored in every inning while Gabbie Plain struck out the first six batters she faced in her 30th career shutout. The Huskies took the lead just two batters into the game and never looked back, with 12 baserunners in four-plus innings.
This was Washington's fourth straight game over the Ducks and third straight run-rule victory over Oregon. The Huskies are now on a 26-game home winning streak. Washington moves to 32-5 on the year and 10-2 in Pac-12 play, the first team to reach ten Pac-12 wins.
Gabbie Plain was as strong as ever, with multiple strikeouts in every inning. She began the day striking out the first six batters she faced before allowing a hit and would end the day with 12 strikeouts, the most by a Husky against Oregon since Danielle Lawrie's 18 in 2009.
Washington jumped on things early and often on offense, putting the leadoff batter on in four of five innings. Sis Bates and Lilly Agan were perfect on the day, combining to go 3-for-3 with two walks and four runs scored. Both Baylee Klingler and Sami Reynolds hit homers in the game. The Huskies would chase Oregon's starter after just 1.1 innings of work. Only once all game were three Husky hitters in a row retired.
