Scharf, Leonard-Baker Solid At Nationals, Scharf Named All-American
FORT WORTH, Texas – Hannah Scharf earned Second Team All-America status on bars after she and Cairo Leonard-Baker competed as individuals at the 2021 NCAA Gymnastics Championships on Friday, representing Sun Devil Gymnastics.
"Cairo and Hannah did a phenomenal job today," Arizona State Head Coach Jay Santos said. "They hit their routines confidently as they have done all season and we couldn't be more proud of their performances. It was the perfect way to cap off the 2021 season."
Making her debut on the biggest stage in college gymnastics, sophomore Hannah Scharf got her second All-America nod of the season. On bars, she scored a 9.8875 to tie for seventh and earned Second Team All-America status. This is two nationals in a row with a Gym Devil finishing in the top eight to become an All-American on an event, with Leonard-Baker getting second team on bars as well in 2019.
