Washington Falls To Oregon In Game Two Of Doubleheader

Apr 17, 2021

SEATTLE – The #6 Washington Huskies fell in the non-conference second game of a doubleheader with the #4 Oregon Ducks, losing 10-1. The loss ended Washington's six-game win streak against the Ducks and a 27-game home winning streak.

The Huskies are 33-6 overall after tonight's loss, which did not count in the conference standings. Washington had not lost to Oregon since 2018, with the six-game win streak against the Ducks the program's longest since a record nine-game streak from 2000-2002.

Sami Reynolds scored Washington's lone run, giving her at least one hit and at least one run scored in every game this weekend. Taryn Atlee had the RBI for the Huskies, starting at second base. Reynolds and Kelley Lynch each reached safely in all of their plate appearances.

SCORING
  • Second Inning: Taryn Atlee came through with the RBI single slapped right back up the middle for the game's first run.
  • Third Inning: The Ducks managed three consecutive full-count walks before a home run made it 4-1 Oregon.
  • Fifth Inning: Two RBI singles scored three more Oregon runs, making it 7-1. One more big hit, this time a bases-clearing double, made it 10-1.

  • Lynch (2 BB) now has seven walks in her last five games
  • In her last five games, Atlee (1x2, RBI) is hitting .375.
