Apr 19, 2021

SEATTLE - For the second year in a row, the Washington Huskies are dancing, heading to North Carolina as participants in the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies will take on Liberty in the first round on either April 27 or April 28, with the date and time yet to be determined.

This is Washington's second straight NCAA Tournament selection and 16th in program history. The Huskies will look to advance to the second round for the second straight year: Washington has advanced in the tournament in back-to-back years four times in program history.

This year, the Huskies finished third in the Pac-12 for the second straight year: Washington has not finished higher in the Pac-12 standings since 2001. Washington was the stingiest defense in the Pac-12, allowing the fewest goals in the conference. Eight times in 15 games the Huskies shut out their opponents. 14 times in 15 games the Huskies held the opposition to one goal or fewer.

The Huskies finished the 2020-21 regular season ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll for the fifth time in the last six weeks, its most weeks in the rankings since 2015. Washington was ranked in the Top Drawer Soccer poll for six straight weeks, its longest streak in the polls since 2004.
