Ducks Cap Regular Season with Home Win
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon got off to a fast start, winning the first three dual matches of the day to lock up a win on the way to a 4-1 victory over Portland in the second and final home match of the year at Amazon Park.
This was the first time that the Ducks hosted multiple home matches in a season while Wednesday's win over the Pilots was just the third home match in program history overall. Oregon added to its program-record win total to finish the regular season 7-9 ahead of the Pac-12 Championships which start April 29.
How It Happened: The Ducks grabbed control of the match by winning both duals in the first round of matches to go up 2-0. Delaney Hopen and Savannah Siegrist made quick work at the No. 5 spot with a 21-10, 21-14 win before Zoe Almanza and Vivian Donovan locked up the second point of the day with a 21-17, 21-15 victory at the No. 3 spot.
Josie Cole and Anastasia Lima clinched the match for Oregon with a win at the No. 2 spot in the next round of matches, rolling to a first set win before coming back from a 7-0 hole in set two to win the match 21-8, 21-19. Abby Plevin and Batia Rotshtein won 21-10, 21-15 in a non-counting match.
With the outcome already decided, the two teams split the final two duals to give the match its final score. Madelyn LaFollette and Carly Wallace fell at the No. 1 spot, 21-18, 21-18, losing an early 14-7 lead in the first set before dropping a tight second set. Bea Wetton and Ashley Schroeder won in straight sets at the No. 4 spot, 21-15, 21-18, cruising to a first set win before closing the second on a 4-0 run to get the sweep.

Senior Day W: The Ducks also honored their three graduating seniors - Cole, Hopen and LaFollette - prior to the match. Cole was a part of the program for four years and has been a member of two of the most successful teams in program history while LaFollette has been on the beach roster each of the last two seasons and Hopen joined the Ducks as a grad transfer this season.
