LOS ANGELES – The No. 17-ranked UCLA women's rowing team will take on San Diego this Saturday morning in a dual-meet competition.
The Bruins are scheduled to race four boats against San Diego, with the morning's races expected to begin at 9 a.m. (PT) in Chula Vista, Calif. (at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center).
UCLA and the University of San Diego will open the morning with the varsity eight race at 9 a.m., followed by the second varsity eight race at 9:15 a.m. The Bruins will race their varsity four crew at 9:30 a.m., while the third varsity eight will compete at 9:45 a.m.
"We are just excited for the opportunity to travel and race," UCLA head coach Amy Fuller Kearney said. "Unfortunately, SDSU had to pull out of Saturday's regatta, but we are still looking forward to lining up against USD. It has been almost two years since our last road trip and the team is very excited."
UCLA opened its spring season with consecutive dual-meet wins against Loyola Marymount (March 13) and USC (March 27).
In addition to this Saturday's races against San Diego, the Bruins are scheduled to compete against USC (San Pedro, Calif.) on Saturday, May 1. The annual Pac-12 Championships in Gold River, Calif., are set for Sunday, May 16.
