Ducks Add Transfer to Incoming Class
Oregon announced the addition of transfer Kailee Luschar to next year's incoming class. Luschar spent the fall at Arizona State and will join the program during the fall of 2021.
"Kailee is an extremely versatile athlete and will help us at numerous positions on the field," said assistant coach Justin Shults. "She will add a strong left-handed bat and will provide power and speed for us."
As a senior at Carson High School, Luschar was named the Nevada Gatorade State Player of the Year following the shortened 2020 season. She also earned PGF Western Region All-America honors in 2020 after finishing her high school career with a .510 batting average and 90 stolen bases to go along with a .580 on-base percentage and 11 home runs.
Luschar was named to the Nevada Preps All-State second-team following her junior season in 2019. She hit .579 with four homers, 26 RBIs and 44 runs scored while stealing 35 bases and finishing with a .633 on-base percentage. Luschar had a hit in all but one of her 28 games played while recording multiple hits 20 times.
The Carson City, Nev. native earned all-state honorable mention recognition from Nevada Preps as both a freshman and sophomore. She hit .462 with 50 runs scored and a .556 on-base percentage to go along with 22 stolen bases in 2018 as a sophomore with a hit in 30 of the 33 games. Luschar turned in a stellar freshman year, hitting .480 with seven doubles, four homers and 14 RBIs in addition to 31 stolen bases.
Luschar was ranked No. 97 in Extra Inning Softball's final rankings for the Class of 2020 and will become the fourth top-100 player from that class on the Oregon roster, joining current freshmen Tehya Bird, Raegan Breedlove and Alyssa Brito. She will also join her younger sister, Kedre Luschar, as a part of the incoming group of Ducks next season as Kedre signed in November and will come to Eugene as a freshman in the fall.
