Bates One Of Ten Senior CLASS Finalists

Apr 23, 2021

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Washington's own Sis Bates was named one of the ten finalists for the Senior CLASS Award today, the second straight year Washington has had a finalist for the award. The Senior CLASS Award is given out each year to the senior who best exemplifies a commitment to excellence in the community, classroom, character, and competition.

Voting for the award is open to the public until May 24 online.

This year, Bates has continued to excel in the field. Now one of just three Huskies ever with 300+ career hits, Bates is second in the Pac-12 in batting average and first in hits with 56, giving her her fourth season of 50+ hits. Her on-base percentage of .497 is third in the Pac-12, only recently dropping below .500. In the field, the two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year has been her usual self, making just three errors.
