STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's golf began play at the 2021 Pac-12 Championships on Friday, finishing the day in second place with a 5-over 289. The Cardinal sits behind USC, who finished with a 1-under 283.

Freshman Rachel Heck led the way for Stanford with a 3-under 68. She is tied for third, just one stroke off the individual lead. Friday marked Heck's 15th round of the season and the seventh time she's fired a score in the 60s. She has played 11 rounds at par-or-better on the season. Sophomore Angelina Ye, also playing in her first career Pac-12 Championships, finished the day tied for eighth with an even-par 71. Ye has played six of her last seven rounds at even-par or better.

In total, four Cardinal made their postseason debuts on Friday, with sophomore Brooke Seay and freshman Sadie Englemann in the lineup. Junior Aline Krauter is the lone Cardinal in the lineup this weekend with previous postseason experience.

Stanford will be paired with USC on Saturday and begin play off hole No. 1 at 10:10 a.m.
