Chacon In Top 10 Entering Final Round

STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Briana Chacon is in the individual top 10 after leading the Oregon women's golf team for the second straight round on Saturday at the Pac-12 Championships.
 
Chacon fired a second consecutive even-par 71 to pace the Ducks, who improved by two strokes from Friday's opening round with an 11-over 295. Oregon moved up one spot on the team leaderboard into sixth with 18 holes remaining on Sunday.
 
How it Happened: Chacon was even through her first nine holes after starting with seven pars, a birdie and a bogey. She dipped below par with a birdie to start the back nine, and rebounded from a double bogey to finish with five pars and a birdie to get back to even par.
 
Chacon - who is seeking a fifth straight top-10 finish - sits in a tie for seventh place going into Sunday, six shots back of individual leader Emma Spitz (UCLA).
 
Freshman Hsin-Yu (Cynthia) Lu is tied for 12th overall after two rounds at 4-over par, finishing the second round with a 3-over 74. Lu was 4 over with four holes remaining before finishing with three pars and a birdie.
 
Sophomore Ching-Tzu Chen gives the Ducks three players in the individual top 20 in a tie for 18th, matching Lu with a 3-over 74 on Saturday. Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen rounded out the counting scores for Oregon with a 5-over 76, a seven-stroke improvement from Friday.
