Team race tightens after Round 2 of 2021 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 5 USC remained atop the leaderboard, but No. 10 ARIZONA STATE carded the lowest team score of the second round to narrow the team race at the 2021 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships at par-71, 6,269-yard Stanford Golf Course on Saturday.

The Sun Devils recorded a 1-under-par 283 to move into second in the team standings after 36 holes at 6-over 574 (291-283). The Trojans, who are seeking to defend their 2019 Pac-12 title, saw their Round 1 advantage trimmed from six shots to four following a 3-over 287 for a two-day 2-over 570 total (283-287).

Third-place No. 22 STANFORD and fourth-place No. 30 ARIZONA also gained ground on USC to remain in close contention at 7-over 575 (289-286) and 8-over 576 (291-285), respectively.

UCLA sophomore Emma Spitz fired a 3-under 68 - tied for Saturday's low round with Arizona junior Yu-Sang Hou - for the second straight day to assume the individual lead at 6-under 136, one shot ahead of Cardinal freshman Rachel Heck at 5-under 135 (68-69).

Sunday's final round will begin off split tees at 8:00 a.m. PT, with anticipated rain in the forecast.
