Apr 24, 2021

TUCSON, Ariz. – The USC baseball team battled back from an early deficit, but ultimately fell short on the road at No. 18 Arizona, 10-6.

The Trojans fall to 18-15 overall and 6-8 in Pac-12 play, while the Wildcats improve to 26-11, 11-6.

USC erased an early 3-0 deficit, manufacturing a run in the third and then scoring three in the fifth to take a 4-3 advantage. Ben Ramirez put USC in front in the fifth with a two-run double.

The Wildcats would come back with two runs in the sixth inning on a sac fly and RBI double, and then put the game out of reach with four runs in the seventh. Ramirez and Rhylan Thomas each drove in runs down the stretch, but USC couldn't mount the rally it needed.

Brian Gursky took the loss for USC after giving up the runs in the sixth. Chandler Murphy picked up the win in relief for Arizona.
