LOS ANGELES -- No. 2 UCLA (25-3) defeated No. 7 Washington (4-12) on Thursday morning in the 2021 Pac-12 Championship at Mapes Beach. With the win, the Bruins improve to 9-0 all-time against the Huskies.

The Bruins took a 1-0 lead on court four when Megan Muret and Jacqueline Quade defeated Ashley Shook and Hannah Yerex 21-17, 21-14.

UCLA went up 2-0 on court two as Lea Monkhouse and Devon Newberry beat UW's Avie Niece and Natalie Robinson 21-15, 21-10.

The Bruins clinched the dual win on court one where Savvy Simo and Lexy Denaburg defeated Shayne McPherson and Chloe Loreen 21-15, 21-15.

With the 3-0 win, the other two courts were truncated, which left court three and court five unable to finish. UCLA's Abby Van Winkle and Lindsey Sparks led Washington's Scarlett Dahl and Kyra Peterson 21-9, 11-9 on court three. The Bruins' Rileigh Powers and Jaden Whitmarsh led the Huskies' Cassidy Schilling and Callie Weber 21-13, 6-4 on court five.
UCLA will now face No. 3 Arizona on Friday, April 30 at 11:30 a.m. PDT at Mapes Beach. While no fans or family members will be permitted to attend the Championship, all duals will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Networks.
