Subasic to Return for 2021-22 Season

Apr 30, 2021

CORVALLIS – Oregon State forward Jovana Subasic will return to the Beavers for the 2021-22 season, the senior announced Friday.

The NCAA announced on Oct. 14 that winter-sport student-athletes who competed during the 2020-21 campaign would receive an additional year of eligibility due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their season. This allows Subasic to remain with the Oregon State team after completing her senior season.

Subasic joins fellow forward Ellie Mack as seniors opting to return to the Beavers for their additional season of eligibility.

The Sabac, Serbia native saw action in 10 games last season, shooting 41.2 percent from the floor and 40 percent from 3-point range. She scored five points and pulled down three rebounds against Oregon on Dec. 13.

Subasic spent the first three seasons of her collegiate career at Washington State, and has a total of 402 career points and 201 career rebounds. She will be part of an Oregon State front-court that boasts All-Pac-12 selection Taylor Jones, three-year starter Taya Corosdale, McDonald's All-American Kennedy Brown returning from injury, Mack back for an additional season and Jelena Mitrovic coming off a redshirt-freshman campaign in which she saw action in every game.

As a team, Oregon State finished the season 12-8 and made its seventh-straight NCAA Tournament. The Beavers won nine of their final 12 games, with their three defeats in that span all coming against opponents who made the Final Four.
