The ASU men sit at 20th in this week's USTFCCCA rankings, while the women are at 25th. Twenty-three Sun Devils across both genders rank in the top-50 nationally.

Turner Washington will once again be in action for the Sun Devils. He's broken the program discus record in three of his last four meets and his PB in the shot is three feet away from the top spot as well.

Sophomore Jalen Drayden will make his season debut this weekend when he runs in the 100m dash. Drayden last ran for the Maroon and Gold in February 2020 at the MPSF Indoor Championships where he competed in the 60m and 4x400. He was a highschool 100m champion and held the No. 4 mark in the 200m.

ASU has multiple athletes close to hitting an Olympic or USATF standard in their respective events. Washington in the lone Sun Devil to surpass a mark (shot and discus), but Jamar Marshall Jr. (13.67) and Kentre Patterson (13.71) are both within .30 of the USATF qualifying mark (13.48). Marshall's 400H time (50.88) is also right there next to USATF's standard (49.50). Dubem Nwachukwu (46.39) is also close in the 400m (45.20).

Jorinde van Klinken (17.76m) of the Netherlands is two and a half feet away from the IAAF standard in the women's shot (18.50), and Josephine Anokye of Ghana is right on the cusp of hitting a trio of IAAF standards in the 100m (11.15), 200m (22.80), and 400m (51.35). Her times are 110m/11.40, 200m/23.00, and 400m/53.39.

Looking ahead, the Pac-12 Track and Field Championships runs May 14-16 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
