LOS ANGELES - Cal beach volleyball pair Jordan Polo and Ainsley Radell were named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team after their performance at the Pac-12 Championship this past week.
The duo went 2-1 in their three completed matches, but were on their way to a third win when Cal's match vs. Oregon was completed. Cal claimed their biggest win of the tournament vs. eighth-ranked and third-seeded Arizona on Friday thanks to a fantastic match by Polo and Radell. With the match locked at two, the second pair was the last pair playing to decide the critical match. Cal lost the first set 21-19, and was facing match point in the second set at 20-19, but they fought back won the second set and then rolled to a 15-11 victory in the third set to claim the match and the dual. The victory sent Cal into Saturday's competition as the Bears finished in fourth place at the Pac-12 Championship.
The duo played at Cal's second pair for the entire tournament. They went 1-1 against Stanford's second pair of Charlie Ekstroma and Maya Harvey. Polo and Radell won on Thursday but lost on Saturday, when the Bears were eliminated by the Cardinal.
This is the second time Cal has received Pac-12 All-Tournament honors as Iya Lindahl was named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team in 2019.
