OGDEN, Utah – The Utah track & field team had a short turnaround this week and still saw a pair of Utes claim event victories on Monday at the Weber State Twilight meet inside Stewart Stadium.
Freshman Annie Murdock got things rolling in the 400m dash with her first-career event victory, clocking in at 57:08 (aa). Jasie York made it back-to-back event victories for Utah when she won the 800m race with a new personal best time of 2:12.40 (aa) to earn her first event victory as well. Meghan Curtin also set a new PR, checking in at 2:15.84 (aa) for fourth place. Rounding out the group of Utes running in the 800m race were Emma Earl (2:17.37 aa), Claire Rusovick (2:17.78 aa) and Kaitlyn Mercer – who recorded a new personal best (2:21.26 aa).
In the 400m hurdles, Ruby Jane Mathewson took second in her heat and third overall with a new PR time of 1:01.82 (aa) while Rachel Whipple came in after her at 1:03.31 (aa). For the first time in nearly two months, Bailey Kealamakia (1:03.92 aa) did not clock a new PR in the 400m hurdles and saw her streak of five-consecutive meets with new PR snapped.
Aubrey Argyle and Astrid Lindgren closed out the day for Utah in the women's 5000m race. Argyle and Lindgren ran side-by-side for a good portion of the race before Argyle kicked it into gear to take third with a time of 18:19.22 (aa) while Lindgren finished at 18:50.56 (aa).
The Utes now prepare for their final two meets of the regular-season this weekend before heading to Los Angeles for the Pac-12 Championships(May 14-16). First up for the Utes will be the Oregon Twilight on Friday, May 7, followed by the Portland Twilight on Saturday, May 8.
