TEMPE - The swan song continues! Scottsdale native Nathan Ponwith will play in the singles portion of the NCAA Tennis Championship after moving up from his first-alternate position. This is Ponwith's first appearance in the singles portion of the tournament. He earned a bid to the NCAA Doubles National Championships alongside Dominik Kellovsky in 2019, bowing out in the first round.
The singles competition runs May 23-28 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, following the conclusion of the team portion of the tournament (May 16-22). UCF and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will serve as hosts.

Ponwith ranks 84th in the nation and has taken down seven ranked opponents in 2021, most recently recording a two-set match-point victory over No. 104 Axel Geller of Stanford in the second round of the Pac-12 Championship. Ponwith is a team-best 15-7 on the year and 11-9 in doubles. He opened the season on a six-match winning streak.
