Aaron Du Garners Two Pac-12 Postseason Awards
BERKELEY – California freshman Aaron Du earned a pair of Pac-12 postseason awards on Thursday, earning a selection to the All-Pac-12 Newcomer Team alongside an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
"We are a fortunate program to have Aaron on our team," Alex and Marie Shipman Director of Men's Golf Walter Chun said. "He does so many things well: he's a tremendous teammate, a great listener, a hard-worker and cares a great deal about Cal golf. It's a tip of the cap to acknowledge Aaron as an All-Conference player and being named to the Newcomer Team. He's earned it, and it will be fun to see what the future holds for him."
Du competed in all six of the Golden Bears' tournaments this spring with his best finish coming at the Pac-12 Championship last week. The Beijing, China native placed seventh with a total of 279 (-9) strokes and three of his four rounds were under par. His best round of the season took place during the second day of the conference championship when he shot a 66 (-6) which was highlighted by nine birdies. Du also led Cal at the Southwestern Invitational, tying for 22nd in the Bears' first tournament of the season and the first of his collegiate career.
