Buffs Travel Close To Home For Air Force Twilight Open

BOULDER- The University of Colorado track and field program travels in-state to the United States Air Force Academy Friday for the Air Force Twilight Open.
 
A group of women sprinters will head to the meet tomorrow for the 200 meters, 100 meters hurdles, 400 meters and 4x100 meters. Jaida Drame in the 200 meters, Elise Gillett in the 100 meters hurdles and Valerie Welch in the 400 meters hurdles highlight notable Buff entries. The relay team will be made up of Drame, Welch, Tamia Badal, and Abbey Glynn.
 
The men's team will race in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters hurdles and 4x100 meters. Chris Craig is a Buff to keep an eye on in the 100 and 200 meters, as well as Aaron McCoy in the 400 meters hurdles. The relay team will consist of Dimitri Stanley, Mark Perry, Ian Gilmore and Ronald Sayles.
 
On the women's side, Kylee Harr, Allie Routledge, Kara Lucyk and Elise Gillett will jump for Colorado in the high jump with Cheyenne Cheshier wearing black and gold in the triple jump. The men will only send jumper Ryan Charles to compete in the high jump.
 
CU will send a handful of throwers from the men's and women's side to the Air Force Twilight Open. Lauren Whyrick throwing the shot put, Obiyaa Osafo-Mensah in the discus and Jane Powers in the hammer throw are some leaders for the Buffs in the throwing events who will be at the open for the women.
 
Caleb Penner in the discus, Dominique Williams in the hammer and Henry Carlson in the javelin are three Buffs from the men's team looking to make a mark in their respective events on Friday.
 
This will be the final meet for the Buffs before the Pac-12 Championships begin on May 14th.
