Men's Golf Pac-12 Honors: Puig, Johnston, Yu and Andersen on the List

David Puig has earned 2021 Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year

The Pac-12 announced its men's golf honors for 2020-21 as four Sun Devils earned mention, with sophomore David Puig leading the way with Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-Pac-12. Sophomore Ryggs Johnston and senior Chun An Yu earned first-team as well with Johnston earning a spot on the All-Newcomer team, and senior Mason Andersen earned second-team honors.

It marks the first time the program had three first-teamers since 2000, when current PGA players Paul Casey and Matt Jones earned the honor along with 2000 U.S. Amateur champion Jeff Quinney. 

Puig (@PuigCorrius ) joins a great list of Sun Devils to earn Newcomer of the Year honors, along with teammate Cameron Sisk (2019), Jon Rahm  (@JonRahmpga / 2013) and 2003 NCAA Champion Alejandro Canizares (@Acanizares10 / 2003). He has a team best 70.00 stroke average and has posted 14 of 28 rounds in the 60s. He earned Southwestern Invitational and The Amer Ari Invitational medalist honors. 

CHUN AN YU
Sun Devil senior Chun An Yu will be playing in his fourth NCAA regional May 17-19 and he has played par or better in 98 of 144 career rounds at ASU, second only to Jon Rahm's 117 in 165 rounds. His scores have counted in 132 rounds (.923).
