Trio of Huskies Garner All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention Awards
SEATTLE – A trio of Washington men's golfers picked up Pac-12 Postseason recognition on Thursday as seniors Jan Schneider and Henry Lee along with freshman Teddy Lin were named to the All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention team. Additionally, Lin was an honorable mention selection for the Pac-12 All-Newcomer Team.
It is the first time since the 2016 season that the Huskies have had three student-athletes recognized by the conference in the same year.
Lee posted three top 10 finishes in eight events this season with a 72.08 stroke average over 25 rounds and only finished lower than 30th in an event once. Lee started his string of three-straight top 10 efforts at the Duck Invitational as he tied for sixth with a 3-over 216. He backed that with a tie for ninth at The Goodwin (3-under 207) before recording his highest finish of the season at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational as he tied for second.
Schneider earned Washington's highest finish at the Pac-12 Championships since 2018 as he placed sixth over all with a 10-under 278. He had a team-high tying 11 rounds under par including six sub-70 scorecards en route to a 72.35 stroke average. The senior's best showing of the season was at the Lamkin Grips SD Classic where he tied for third with a 2-under 214.
Freshman Teddy Lin recorded five top 25 finishes during his first season with the Dawgs with his 72.96 stroke average over nine events. Lin also recorded eight rounds under par and finished second in the lineup on the team five times. In just his second event as a Husky, Lin tied for 18th at the Amer Ari with a 3-over 219. He added two more top 25 showings as he tied for 23rd at the Lamkin Grips SD Classic and finished 20th at The Goodwin. After a tie for 14th at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational, Lin put together his best performance of the season tying for eighth at the Pac-12 Championships with a 7-under 281.
The Huskies continue the 2020-21 season as they earned the No. 7 seed at the NCAA Cle Elum Regionals, May 17-19, hosted by the University of Washington at Tumble Creek Golf Club.
