SEATTLE – The #5 Washington Huskies mashed 12 hits en route to a 6-0 win over the Utah Utes in game two of the Saturday doubleheader. Five different Huskies had multi-hit games, with Washington hitting seven extra-base hits in the game.
Washington scored early with two runs in the second, then burst out with four straight extra-base hits in the bottom of the sixth to put the game well in hand. The Huskies improve to 38-9 on the season with the win and clinch their fifth series win against a Pac-12 opponent this year.
Morganne Flores joined Sami Reynolds and Baylee Klingler as Huskies with double-digit homers, giving Washington its first trio of double-digit homer hitters since 2017. Klingler also homered in the game, her 16th of the year. Sami Reynolds, Sis Bates, and Kelley Lynch each had a double, with Sarah Willis hitting two doubles in three at-bats.
Willis also started in the circle, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings, including facing the minimum in the first. Pat Moore closed things out with 5.2 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and only two baserunners. Three times Moore threw 1-2-3 innings. The senior retired the final eight batters she faced to get the win.
