Lynch Earns Fourth Career Pac-12 Freshman Of The Week

May 10, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO - For the fourth time in her career, Kelley Lynch has earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, this time after helping the Huskies to a sweep of Utah at home. Lynch now holds the all-time Husky record for most Freshman of the Week awards in program history.

Last week, Lynch had hits and RBI in all four games of the sweep, with extra-base hits in three of four games. She hit .417/.429/.833 on the weekend. That included a big three-run home run to cap a Husky comeback from down 3-0, giving the lead in the bottom of the sixth in what would become a 6-4 Washington win.

This is Lynch's first Freshman of the Week award of 2021 and fourth of her career. Lynch earned three such awards in 2020, tying her with Gabbie Plain for the most Freshman of the Week awards by a Husky. Lynch, Plain, and Taran Alvelo are the only Huskies ever to earning multiple Freshman of the Week awards from the Pac-12.

Lynch's award is the eighth weekly award from the Pac-12 for the Huskies this year. She is the fourth Husky to earn such an award this year, joining Sami Reynolds, Gabbie Plain, and Jadelyn Allchin.
