BATON ROUGE, La. — For the second straight day, heavy rain and poor course conditions in Baton Rouge, La., has forced the cancelation of play at the NCAA Women's Golf Regional hosted by LSU at The University Club.
Play was first canceled on Monday, May 10, with the hopes of playing two rounds on Tuesday, May 11. Unfortunately with the extreme weather conditions in the area, on top of the course conditions, both rounds had to be canceled Tuesday.
The current plan is for play to resume at 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday, May 12, with a shotgun start. Teams and individuals will play as many holes as possible, but the regional is required to stop Wednesday night. There is no playing into Thursday or Friday per the NCAA Participants Manual.
Colorado junior Malak Bouraeda is the Buffaloes' sole representative at the regional. She qualified as one of six individuals at the Baton Rouge Regional and is making her first NCAA Tournament appearance.
Each regional site consists of 18 teams and six individuals. The top six teams and three individuals from non-qualifying teams advance to the national championship
