Rally Falls Short In 4-1 Loss To Stanford
STANFORD, Calif. – The #5 Washington Huskies couldn't ignite the offense in game one today, falling 4-1 to the Stanford Cardinal in the conference game of the doubleheader. This was Washington first loss to Stanford since 2017.
Washington goes to 40-10 with today's loss and 17-5 in Pac-12 play. While this eliminates the Huskies from Pac-12 championship contention, the Huskies have clinched second place in the conference.
Noelle Hee had the only RBI for the Huskies, ripping a hard single off the centerfield wall in the sixth inning. Baylee Klingler had two hits, including a double. Morganne Flores also had a hit in the game, singling in the sixth.
Gabbie Plain fell to 28-2 on the season with the loss. Plain retook the national lead in strikeouts today despite taking the loss, striking out three in the complete game.
