LOS ANGELES – The Utah track & field team closed out the second day at the Pac-12 Championships on Saturday at Loker Track Stadium.
Ruby Jane Mathewson started the day off for the Utes in the 100m hurdles, checking in at 16.17. Of the six Utes competing in the 800m race, Brooke Manson had the fastest time with a mark of 2:08.16 in the second heat while Whitney Hessler clocked in at 2:08.37. Jasie York recorded a new career-best in heat 5 and crossed the finish line at 2:11.24 – edging out her previous best set just last week at the Oregon Twilight (2:11.63). Brooklyn James finished right after Manson in the second heat, checking in at 2:11.64 while Sarah Newton crossed at 2:10.48 as the lone Ute in the third heat with freshman Annie Murdock coming in at 2:12.90.
Competing in her first conference championship meet, Kelise Davis recorded a time of 56.70 in the 400m dash. Like Davis, Donna Ntambue also raced in her first conference championship meet with the dual-sport athlete just missing her PR of 11.99 in the 100m dash with a time of 12.06.
The Women of Utah will conclude its time in Los Angeles on Sunday with the 4x100m and 4x400m relays and the 5k at Loker Track Stadium. First race is slated to begin at 4:10 p.m. (MT) on Pac-12 Networks with the women's 4x100m relay.
