Varsity Eight Takes Third at Pac-12s

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Taking the water on Lake Natoma near Sacramento, Stanford men's rowing took third place at the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday.
 
The varsity eight, ranked 11th nationally, stuck close to the top two teams in the country and finished with a time of 5:54.113. The Cardinal was 15 seconds ahead of fourth-place Oregon State to lock in a medal.
 
The second varsity, the first event of the day for Stanford, also finished third, stopping the clock at 6:06.262. The Cardinal took fourth overall as a team with 42 points, as Oregon State also featured a third varsity entrant.
 
The season ends for Stanford at the IRA Championships May 28-29 in West Windsor, New Jersey.
