Sophomore Tyler Guo and freshman Shane Ffrench each carded 2-over 74s to pace the USC men's golf team's efforts during the first round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional on Monday (May 17) at the Seminole Legacy G.C.
The Trojans combined for a 14-over 302 and are 13th after 18 holes. Host Florida State leads the 14-team field at 17-under 271 with Georgia Tech second (-11), Liberty third (-5), Ohio State fourth (-4) and Georgia fifth (-3).
The top 5 teams advance out of each of the six regions to the NCAA Championships final.
Ffrench and Guo are tied for 44th at 2-over. Guo was 1-over on both nines today while Ffrench went out at 2-over and came in at par, posting four birdies on the day.
Senior Leon D'Souza was working on a strong round until late, losing five strokes over his final four holes and is tied for 57th at 4-over.
Junior Cameron Henry is 70th at 6-over 78 and senior Kyle Suppa is tied for 71st at 7-over 79.
