LOS ANGELES – Emma Spitz from UCLA Women's Golf has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for May 11 – May 17.
Spitz helped the Bruins advance to the NCAA Championships after winning the Louisville Regional. She finished with rounds of 5-under 67 and 4-under 68 to shoot an 8-under 208, winning by five strokes. It was the second victory of Spitz's career and first solo win. Late last week, Spitz was also named a finalist for the ANNIKA Award for the second year in a row.
It's the first-career Student Athlete of the Week award for Spitz. She and the Bruins are back for the NCAA Championships, which kick off on Friday, May 21 from Scottsdale, Ariz.
