TUCSON, Ariz. – Jordan Geist and Israel Oloyede are set to compete at Drachman Stadium on Thursday, May 20 in the Tucson Elite Classic. Featuring only throwing events, Geist will throw the hammer at 3 p.m. MST and compete in the shot put at 8:30 p.m. while Oloyede will be in the hammer throw contest at 4 p.m
Former Wildcat Grayson Fleming will also compete in the hammer throw at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, USA Track and Field is hosting the USATF Throws Festival at Drachman where Geist (SP) and Oloyede (HT) will be competing again. Justice Summerset will also compete in the high jump contest at 6:30 p.m.
Both Geist and Oloyede have top-five marks in the country in the hammer throw. Oloyede is third in the nation with a school record toss of 72.91m (239-2) at the Jim Click Shootout while Geist is No. 5 with a mark of 71.78m (235-6) at the Pac-12 Championships. Summerset currently has the 13th best high jump mark of 2.21m (7-3).
Geist is also No. 3 in the country in the shot put after a toss of 20.35m (66-9.25), good for his third consecutive Pac-12 men's shot put title.
