USC's TeeTee Terry, Anna Cockrell Named To Bowerman Post-Conference Championships Watch List
TeeTee Terry and Anna Cockrell were named to The Bowerman 2021 Women's Post-Conference Championships Watch List, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today (May 19).
Terry, from Miami, Fla., won her third consecutive Pac-12 100m sprint title with a Loker Stadium record-time of 11.10 (+1.1) on May 16. In the prelims on May 15, Terry had a wind-aided time of 11.02 (+2.6w) which ranks tied for second in the country. Terry also won the Pac-12 title in the 200m dash on May 16 with a personal-best time of 22.72 (+1.4) which ranks sixth on the NCAA descending order list. Terry also anchored USC's 4x100m relay which posted a time of 42.99. Terry accounted for 22 points during the meet and earned Co-Women's Athlete of the Meet.
Terry also had a big USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 2, setting the meet record in the 100m at 11.09 (+0.7) and anchoring USC's winning 4x100m relay which set the meet record with a time of 42.63. That time ranks fourth on USC's all-time list and second among all NCAA teams this season.
During the 2021 indoor season, Terry ran the fastest times of her career in the women's 60m and 200m at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships and took home a second-place finish in the 60m final with a time of 7.14 and fourth in the 200m final with a PR of 22.75. Terry's 200m time moved her to second on USC's all-indoor list. Terry's time of 7.09 in the NCAA 60m semifinal was a PR and tied Angela Williams school record.
Terry, an athletic senior, broke her own school record in the 100m dash with a time of 10.98 (1.6) to place third at the 2019 NCAA Championships. She also anchored USC's NCAA champion 4x100m relay which set the school record in the finals with a time of 42.21. Terry also ranks ninth on USC's all-time outdoor 200m dash list with a time of 22.72.
Cockrell, from Charlotte, N.C., also was a two-time winner at the Pac-12 Championships grabbing both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles titles. Cockrell won her third consecutive Pac-12 400m hurdles title with a PR, USC-record and NCAA-leading time of 54.77. That time also ranks seventh on the all-time Pac-12 list in the event. She also matched a season best with a time of 12.79 (+0.0) to win the women's 100m hurdles title. The 2021 Pac-12 Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year also began her Championship Sunday by singing the National Anthem with her teammate Jasmine Jones.
Cockrell is the defending NCAA 400m hurdles champion and lead all hurdlers this season with her time of 54.77. Cockrell also ranks tied for fifth nationally in the 100m hurdles this season with a time of 12.79. Cockrell's time of 54.77 broke the USC women's 400m hurdles record of 54.95 co-owned by Natasha Danvers and Jaide Stepter and her best career time of 12.69 in the 100m hurdles ranks third on USC's all-time list. Cockrell has also run on three of USC's all-time top 10 4x400m relays.
